Email is a new way of contacting each other through the form of online messaging. It has taken over from letters and the telephone, as its more simple, quicker and cheaper way to stay in touch. It's used within families, friends and most importantly in office communication.
The way it works is simple, you simply add the recipients email address into 'to' section and type/attach what you need. Everyone who has made an account, will have an email address specified to them.

Hotmail is the most popular emailing site. It involves the standard emails as well as a new instant messaging service known as msn. This enticed more of the younger generation as it was an easier way to have a chat to your friends. Like all email sites, it is free of charge and makes its money out of advertising on their website. Offering both instant messaging and standard emails, widens their target audience and satisfies more customers as they can choice which they'd prefer to use as each benefits different groups of people.
